How did you start out as a marketer?
I never planned digital marketing as my career.
I started as a content writer, then a growth hacker, an SEO manager, a digital marketing executive, a senior SEO manager, a digital marketing lead, and a digital marketing manager.
That is how I became a full-time marketer.
Looking back, what was your hardest struggle when it came to delivering results?
Every try is my hardest struggle but the best learning.
It became the hardest because not everyone can understand the depth of digital marketing.
Everyone wants instant and consistent results without an investment.
When the client is not able to understand, that is where we feel it is the hardest struggle.
But, if you are a client reading this, don’t pressure your marketing team.
Only when you give them full support can they achieve and give you more results than you ask for.
How did you get your first client back then, and what kind of service did you do for them?
I began my career as a content writer, and now I am a digital marketing manager.
I got clients through word-of-mouth publicity from my colleagues who saw my work directly.
And when I started working for companies, I never did freelance work, as I wanted to focus on one completely.
What do you find most rewarding about what you do?
My patience and consistency
We have a lot of readers who are bent on becoming freelancers. Aside from freelancing, how else can someone earn online? And what is your advice?
There are multiple ways to earn money online.
Freelancing, teaching, guidance, dropshipping, and owning a business
Like these, there are many more ways to earn if you have a unique idea that solves people’s problems.
If you were given the chance to build your career all over again, what would you do differently so that you could achieve your dreams faster?
I would not believe my friend’s words. That one situation turned my career around.
How is your typical work day structured?
Early workouts: work, workout, work, read, sleep. Before, I played PubG and later paused it, and now it has been banned.
Can you tell us about a time where you had to put in significant effort up front and then wait a long time for success?
Alltop9 is a clear example. I worked hard for more than 6 months, and then I started earning little bucks.
And after 1.5–2 years, I started earning 1 lakh per month.
You’ve been tasked with redesigning the company’s brand strategy from the ground up. Walk us through your process.
If I start explaining this, it could be a 10-page document. Haha!
Can you tell us about a past situation where you had to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines?
There were no deadlines in the past 6 years, as I used to complete them at the right time.
Planning and implementation are what made it easy for me to work on multiple projects.
There were times where I handled 10 projects at a time in different categories like health, tech, product-driven, food, saloon, cabs, etc.
What recently developed marketing strategy, technique, or tool interests you the most right now?
I have developed a strategy that gets the best number of app installs and product sales for a very low amount of money spent.
In general, not everyone but most people drive separate campaigns for app installs.
I have given some thought and implemented a campaign that bought me app installs, product sales, website traffic, and brand building for the same amount.
What do you do to stay up to date with new marketing techniques?
I keep an hour to check all the updates and whenever I get a time I keep on reading articles, watch videos on the subject.
That is how I stay up to date.
Can you tell us about a project you’re most proud of from your past work history?
AllTop9. My first and the top project I am very much proud of. I am the only person who worked for this blog.
While coming to stats Globally it ranked 35k and in India 2k.
Like many of the people, I am one of the person who got cheated by a friend who sold it for some Lakhs and recently I have started www.alltop9.org with a unique concept.
Which one book/blog post would you recommend every Marketer should read?
I recommend the book The Secret. This is one of the best books that fills a human with positive vibes, which is very important in this field.
You should never go back if one strategy or one campaign fails. Analyze it and make it better. That’s how we learn.
What advice would you share with other marketers who want to become more productive?
Do not follow anyone blindly.
Learn what others have done and think about how you can make the most of the existing one.
Every marketing strategy has its own goals, audience, and interests.
The way of approaching is very important. So always be unique and smart.
If there’s one marketing guru you’d recommend, who and why?
My marketing guru is my hands-on experience.
I believe in learning from my own experiences rather than following others.
Especially in our digital field, there is no guarantee that the same strategy works for all the products.
Every new project is a new experience. My own experiences are my own.
